Explore the art of hand building with a focus on texture in our 5-week pottery class. Perfect for all skill levels, this course covers three fundamental techniques: pinch pots, coil building, and slab construction. Create functional projects like trinket dishes, vases, and charcuterie boards while incorporating unique textures into your designs.

Class Details:

• Class Fee: Includes instruction, use of tools, and materials for up to 10 fired pieces.

• Session Structure:

  • Class 1: Introduction to studio, tools, and pinch pot technique. Create trinket dishes, sculptures, and bud vases with added texture.

  • Class 2: Focus on coil building technique.

  • Class 3: Explore slab building with projects like charcuterie boards and vases. Learn to incorporate textures using stamps, fabric, and more.

  • Class 4: Complete remaining projects and carve textures into leather-hard pieces.

  • Class 5: Glazing session to finish projects. Work ready for pickup in approximately 2 weeks.

Additional Visit: One visit required post-class for picking up fired work.

Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 17 years old. Participants aged 14-16 may attend if accompanied by an adult.

Policies:

• Cancellation: Full refund if canceled 15 days before the first class. 50% refund if canceled 10 days prior. No refunds after this period, subject to a 5% service fee.

• Make-Up Sessions: Quick make-up sessions available in 30-minute increments before or after pre-scheduled ongoing classes.

Preparation Tips:

• Wear suitable clothes for working with clay.

• Graduates are eligible for studio membership with a first-month discount of 15%. Clay available for purchase at studio prices.
